De Vere Gardens Cloakroom Hanging Basket

De Vere Gardens is a residential development to provide 97 luxury apartments in the prestigious district of Kensington, London. The site is located on the site of the former Kensington Park and Kensington Palace Thistle hotels. The scheme will provide two new seven-storey buildings, both include a penthouse suite, and a five-storey block incorporating the retained façades from the previous building.

The restricted site in a busy part of London adjacent to the main thoroughfare of Kensington road posed a problem for site accommodation. Waco were contracted to supply and installed a 5 storey modular building on a gantry elevated 7 metres above the roadway. The site accommodation provided facility for up to 750 site workers.

During its creation TCI won the contract with WACO to supply and install a cloakroom Hanging basket system for 720 personnel. This innovative system allowed space to be saved in the restricted site. The baskets hang from rails which could be controlled in a secure drying room facility by an operator. Removing the storage allowed for a safe and tidy changing room for the workers.
