Westfield 2012 Olympic Site Case Study

The 180 acre Stratford City site is located on former railways land bordered by Stratford Regional Station, Leyton Road and Carpenters Road. It is divided into two halves by the new Stratford International Station, with the northern site housing the Athletes Village and to the south Westfield's city centre development.

In order to achieve this state of the art site, Westfield Ltd contracted Waco Premier Interlink to install a modular construction office. The modular construction office comprises of 80,000 ft2 / 7,500 m2 to accommodate 250 office staff and 2,500 site operatives.

During its creation TCI won the builds contract with WACO to supply and install all floor coverings. In total TCI's flooring contractors installed 5,000m2 of vinyl and 2,500m2 carpet tiles. Our skilled joinery team installed over 200 toilet cubicles and 120 vanity units, complete with mirrors and soap dispensers.

The project took a record breaking seven weeks to complete, with TCI working around the clock to ensure the project was bought in on time and budget, whilst encouraging and actively promoting Health and Safety innovation, best practices and initiatives through our staff, sub contractors and systems.

Whilst the main build had been completed, TCI won its second large contract, this time working directly for the end client Westfields Shopping Ltd. TCI's scope of works included the supply and install of 250 work stations and conference room facilities.
