Site Manager (Bridgwater, UK)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Site Manager based in Bridgwater.

You will be working for a company that prides itself on the quality of its work.

  • Hours: 7:30-16:30 Monday-Friday
  • Salary: Negotiable

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment
  • Manage staff for the project
  • Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
  • Check design documents with architects, surveyors and engineers
  • Promote and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Responsibility for the creation, review and amendment of method statements & risk assessments as required
  • Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project
  • Comply with site specific plans, policies and procedures
  • Keep up to date site diary and reports (including client reports)
  • Communicate with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, supply chain and others involved in the project
  • Deal with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project and make higher management aware.
  • Plan and manage project specific traffic management
  • Carry out all required paperwork and administrative tasks applicable to project
  • Use bespoke system and any other management systems required
  • Carry out any additional tasks when required

  • Knowledge of relevant building methods
