Compliance Coordinator – Barnstaple

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Coordinator to join our technical department based at our Head Office in Barnstaple.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with both internal and external customers by means of telephone and electronic means, as well as face-to-face with visitors in a professional manner.
  • Ensuring internal documents are categorised, risk assessed and controlled through a document change system. This will also involve checking documents and liaising with internal and external parties to meet document requirements.
  • Conducting scheduled reviews and audits of internal documentation in accordance with the company management system.
  • Using the company’s internal shared system (SharePoint intranet) to organise documents within the company and ensuring documents are easily retrievable via electronic and hard copy systems.
  • Assist with soft and hard copy archiving and ensuring internal processes are being followed.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the company’s internal shared system (SharePoint intranet), including permission control and housekeeping.
  • Assist with maintaining company accreditations and adhering to requirements for external audits such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
  • Working to deadlines and coordinating with different departments within the organisation, and ensuring that documents and processes are being used correctly.
  • Preparing reports for management and external regulatory bodies relating to the integrated management system.
  • Reporting non-compliance issues and supporting the monitoring of corrective actions.
  • Provide support in the development and distribution of project-related quality documents
  • Delivering compliance training and support to departmental teams
  • Striving for continuous improvement across the company, identifying and supporting opportunities for change.
  • Conducting internal audits on company management systems and processes.
  • The role is predominantly based at Head Office, but ad hoc site visits will be required.

Requirements:

Desirable

  • Experience working with and understanding cloud-based intranets (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Internal Auditor Certification for ISO 9001:2015.
  • Experience using root cause analysis techniques.

Essential

  • Proficient in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge and experience of upholding ISO standards and conducting internal audits.
  • Experience of document control procedures and systems.
  • Minimum qualifications: GCSEs (grades A–C / 4–9) including English and I.T.
