Site Manager – Yeovil

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Yeovil.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan project work and oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Manage staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities, including quality control and site inspections.
  • Monitor project progress, set benchmarks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Review design documents in collaboration with architects, engineers, and surveyors.
  • Promote and enforce Health & Safety and Environmental standards, including site inspections.
  • Create, review, and amend Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to report progress.
  • Keep accurate site records, including diaries, reports, and client updates.
  • Manage project-specific traffic plans and logistics.
  • Complete all required administrative tasks and use company management systems effectively.
  • Address unexpected issues on-site and escalate to higher management when necessary.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support project success.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in site supervision or Black Hat Supervisor role.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, professionals, and site operatives.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate your team and ensure high standards of work.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to monitor project plans and utilise time and resources effectively.
  • Resilience and problem-solving abilities to overcome unexpected challenges and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sound awareness of Health & Safety procedures, legislation, and environmental compliance.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Competent in maths and IT skills relevant to site management.
  • Knowledge of relevant building methods and construction techniques
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
  • Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting.
  • First Aid at Work desirable
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
