Site Manager – Building Fabric / Heritage Projects – Portsmouth

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Portsmouth

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day site operations on refurbishment and building fabric projects
  • Supervise subcontractors and site operatives to ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
  • Coordinate works relating to roofing systems, façade upgrades, structural repairs and envelope installations
  • Review drawings, specifications and construction details prior to works commencing
  • Ensure works comply with heritage constraints, conservation requirements, and client standards
  • Prepare and review RAMS, temporary works coordination and permits
  • Manage site logistics within a live operational naval base environment
  • Monitor programme progress and coordinate subcontractor sequencing
  • Ensure works meet quality standards prior to client inspections and milestone sign-off
  • Maintain accurate site documentation including diaries, progress reports and H&S records
  • Liaise with project managers, consultants and the client team

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment or building envelope projects
  • Experience delivering roofing, façade, structural repair or fabric upgrade works
  • Experience working on heritage or listed buildings desirable
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods relating to building fabric and refurbishment
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain programme delivery
  • Excellent attention to quality and detail
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance
  • Competent in maths and IT skills relevant to site management.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
  • CSCS (Managers card preferred)
  • First Aid at Work and Temporary Works Certification desirable
  • Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting.
  • First Aid at Work desirable
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
