TCi racks up the miles in Cycle September challenge

Taking part in the #LoveToRide initiative, the team were encouraged to leave the car at home and take to two wheels…

Cycle September provides an opportunity for companies and employees to get involved at any level, cycling to work or just for fun. With some lovely weather in store, staff set about gathering the miles to win points, gain fitness and save carbon emissions!

The team racked up at total of 849 points from 449miles (722km) including 23 commute trips, saving 194lbs (88kg) CO2, resulting in a classification of 6th overall for companies in Devon with 20-49 staff.

Nationally, TCi comes a strong 46th out of 266 and is 80th out of 379 participating companies in the 20-49 employees class worldwide. The team also finds itself in 2nd place Nationally and 1st place for Devon amongst construction companies.

Speaking on the achievement, Marketing Manager Ben Gibbs said; “it’s been good to have  something to work towards where everyone can contribute in their own way, riding to work or just for fun. Encouraging others to cycle is tough because the hills around here are hard going, but it’s very rewarding to see the impact on carbon emissions versus car travel and great to be getting some fresh air and exercise in this beautiful part of the world!”
