TCi’s annual sustainability & CSR report is here!
This latest edition summarises the company’s community and environmental engagement throughout the financial year to 30th June 2024.
Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it features the industry-leading commitment made by TCi to long-term training and development within the workforce, local employment and community engagement at operational locations, and pioneering involvement in a scope 3 carbon emissions monitoring initiative.
Gender equality, zero-to-landfill waste management and the creation of a native, broadleaf forest within the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere are also standout achievements.
In his introduction to the report, Ben Gibbs, Marketing & Sustainability Manager acknowledges the increased pressure on business resources, reducing some market appetite for sustainability, but is positive about the role TCi has played in continuing to deliver genuine environmental and social value, particularly within areas directly local to TCi sites, right across the country.
He says; “There is always more we can do, but by working collaboratively with clients and project partners, we are able to maximise what’s possible.”
“Whilst our scope 1&2 carbon footprint has increased slightly, it shows an overall reduction in intensity in the context of another >25% growth year and we’ve made important changes to the way we procure fleet vehicles and use public transport to ensure the best technology is used in the right places.”
A review of the year’s charity involvement illuminates a record fundraising total of £12,498,95 for Family Compass, a crucial wellbeing and mental health service for families and children, followed by the sponsorship of triple-amputee war hero Jon White in his bid to reach the Paralympics.
For the first time, the statement also includes benchmark scope 3 carbon emissions reporting, laying the foundations for targets to be set towards net-zero through client and supply-chain collaboration.
