Announcing TCi’s chosen charity for 2026!

Each year, staff at TCi vote on a charity focus for the year ahead and this year, they will be supporting ChemoHero!

ChemoHero is a North Devon-based registered charity dedicated to bringing comfort and kindness to people starting chemotherapy at North Devon District Hospital. ChemoHero is local to TCi’s Head Office, with roots in Barnstaple and the surrounding areas, and it embodies a compassionate, grassroots drive to make a real difference in the lives of people facing one of the most challenging experiences of their lives.

Through its signature “Boxes of Kindness”, the charity provides patients with a thoughtful mix of over 40 different practical items, luxury treats, snacks, and helpful resources designed help with the side effects of treatment and improve quality of life during the time spent in the hospital.

Founded in 2014 by Lisa Wallis, ChemoHero has grown into a beacon of support for cancer patients in the community. In addition to the Boxes of Kindness, the charity offers services such as a treatment trolley and counselling, all rooted in its mission to deliver care, compassion, and hope. Since its inception, ChemoHero has gifted over 3,500 Boxes of Kindness, creating a lasting legacy of love and support for those facing cancer.

Everyone at TCi is looking forward to getting involved with activities throughout the year to raise money and bring in donations for this great cause.

TCi has a strong history of supporting charities locally and nationally! In 2023, TCi raised over £12,000 for local charity Family Compass, in 2022, over £10,000 was raised for Care for Kids, and in the past year, we have raised several thousands of pounds for national charity Breast Cancer Now! The team hopes to repeat this success for ChemoHero in 2026.

“We’re incredibly proud to be supporting ChemoHero in 2026. The charity’s work makes a real difference, and it’s inspiring to see how a local initiative can have such a meaningful impact. As an employee-chosen charity, this Chosen Charity is especially important to TCi, and we can’t wait to see the range of fundraising events and initiatives that will unfold across the business next year.”
