Rising Star celebrated at spectacular, national awards ceremony

Recognition from the Considerate Constructors Scheme for an influential individual

Emily Bailey was welcomed on stage at London’s historic Natural History Museum to receive a 30 under 30 Rising Star award from the UK’s most prominent, independent construction organisation.

The 30 under 30 category recognises young individuals who have made a significant contribution through their role in the construction industry, showing high potential for future leadership.

Under the iconic whale skeleton at one of the UK’s most beloved museum venues, the construction industry’s biggest names gathered to enjoy a stunning meal and entertainment from the evening’s celebrity host, Troy Hawke. Presentations were made to companies and individuals performing at the very top of their class, aligned with the distinctive values of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Congratulating Emily on her achievement, Managing Director Alex Perkis said;

“Having had the fortune to have worked with Emily since the start of her career with TCi, and to have witnessed the incredible contribution she makes to her colleagues, the company, and by virtue the wider industry has been hugely impressive. It is fantastic to see her dedication and achievements recognised individually, at a national level, and on such a prestigious occasion. I have little doubt that she will continue to achieve many, many more great things in the future and we have only just seen the beginning!”

Emily’s career with TCi spans almost eight years since starting as an apprentice and quickly developing as a valuable member of the team. In just her first year with the company, she witnessed the difference her contributions made whilst attending the annual Considerate Constructors Scheme awards ceremony in 2017, where TCi was announced as a Gold award winner AND Most Considerate Supplier.

Emily took the opportunity to develop as the lead coordinator for company accreditations, including ISO 9001 and 14001 standards. Since then, she has been responsible for gaining UKAS accredited ISOs, Chas Elite, Constructionline GOLD, FORS Bronze, Supply Chain Sustainability Gold, and many more. She has consistently produced compelling business cases, and managed relevant stakeholders (many of them senior managers) to achieve the required standards and regularly received compliments from auditors and monitors for the completeness and preparedness of her work.

Under her stewardship, TCi has consistently achieved success as a supplier at the annual Considerate Construction Scheme awards, receiving the Most Considerate Supplier accolade for a second time in 2021. Upon the return of the scheme’s site awards in 2024, she once again navigated TCi to top marks in both site and supplier monitor reports, with another bronze, national site award.

Throughout this time, Emily has consistently sought personal development opportunities and completed a degree in Design and Innovation through part-time study. She has now embarked on a masters degree.

Her career to date is an excellent example of the ways in which a tenacious attitude towards developing solutions and achieving goals for a company in the construction industry can be both vital to success and highly personally rewarding. It has afforded her the opportunity to progress her education whilst being an integral part in the success story of a family-owned construction business based in North Devon, operating on key national projects.

TCi proudly boasts a long and successful history of achievement with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, having been a member for more than a decade, during which time the company and its people have now accrued 11 site, supplier and individual awards.
