Sustainability Statement 2022-2023

TCi is delighted to announce the publication of its latest CSR & Sustainability Statement for the financial year ending June 2023

The report summarises the company’s achievements and progress towards environmental, community and wellbeing sustainability targets, each linked to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Following the adoption of an overarching Sustainability Charter in 2021, TCi has been steadily developing initiatives across the business to achieve and maintain improvements.

Marketing & Sustainability Manager, Ben Gibbs, provides an opening note, explaining;

We have faced many challenges, but also fantastic achievements, of which the whole TCi family can be very proud.

We remind ourselves that this is a journey, rather than a one-off exercise and encourage our staff, supply chain, clients, colleagues and peers to join us.

Highlights of the report include the progress TCi has made as a growing and responsible employer, with a healthy apprenticeship scheme, increasing representation for women in the construction industry, and excellent career opportunities through training, championing fairness, inclusion and respect. Efforts to engage with communities have stepped up, supporting local charities and good causes, whilst encouraging active involvement from staff. Despite another year of exceptional growth, Carbon emissions remain steady and opportunities to deliver environmental benefits through projects have continued to develop. Teams have enjoyed taking part in the Surfers Against Sewage Million Mile Clean around the waterways and beaches of Devon and Somerset, collecting more than 100kg of litter!

Managing Director, Alex Perkis added;

It is extremely humbling to look back and see what we have achieved collectively throughout the year. In contrast to previous periods of rapid development and innovation in sustainability, the last 12 months has been more about consolidation and improvement in our commitment to being a ‘force for good’...”

“…I would like to thank the whole TCi team, our clients, contractors and suppliers for continuing to embrace these values and initiatives that are fundamental to our strategy. It is only by working together that we can deliver genuine environmental and social value as a business. I am looking forward to revealing some exciting developments in the coming months as the company undergoes further growth across the UK, whilst striving to maintain a strong, family ethos.
