TCi construction WORKS is proud to have been awarded EXEMPLA Platform status on the K19 office refurbishment project.
The Hinkley Point C on-site initiative named ‘Pride of Platforms’ recognises and rewards the teams who go above and beyond to deliver their work to the highest safety standards and welfare practices.
Trailblazing achievement: As one of two newcomer companies to be awarded EXEMPLA status in the most recent round of inspections, TCi has broken new ground by achieving the status at the first attempt.
The site team has been working hard to adhere to and improve upon the high standards of safety at the Nuclear New Build site. Efforts have focussed on communication and culture, signage, appearance and innovations such as the Daily Site Activity board which provides a clear at-a-glance summary of worker locations, hazards and operations.
A broad and inclusive approach to safety for staff and subcontractors featuring daily site briefings, toolbox talks, SHELT (Safety, Health & Environment Leadership Team) meetings, behavioural safety, mental health support and dissemination of client safety information has created an excellent model for site operation. This level of good practice and continuous improvement does not stop at K19. Several TCi sites now feature the daily site activity board and already adhere to the same, comprehensive safety culture exhibited at this ‘EXEMPLA’ site.
