As both sponsors and finalists at the #NDBLTawards, the TCi team were ready for a good evening
The prestigious North Devon Business, Leisure & Tourism Awards took place in beautiful surroundings at the High Bullen Hotel.
As previous winners of both the Business Growth award and the top award – Outstanding Business of the Year – in 2018, TCi was pleased to return as sponsors of the Business Growth award for 2019.
Having been shortlisted in the Apprentice Employer of the Year category, there was an additional level of excitement.
Alex Perkis, Operations Director, proudly presented the Business Growth award to winners, Essential Training. a company which began life operating from a garden shed in 2011. The other finalists included Cooper Golding Recruitment, Pickwell Manor and The Bucket List Company – each with impressive stories of growth and business development in North Devon, highlighting the incredible work that happens in the area.
The first award to be announced was the Apprentice Employer of the Year, sponsored by Petroc College. TCi took the award against strong competition from local waste contractor, SWM who have been developing an excellent apprenticeship programme and have also been contracted by TCi to provide a zero-waste-to-landfill refuse and recycling service.

TCi has enjoyed success at awards ceremonies regionally and nationally having won Most Considerate Supplier as well as Bronze, Gold and Silver at successive Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards, regularly achieving at the HPCawards, as finalists at the Construction News Specialist Awards, Apprentice of the Year at the National Building Awards and is currently shortlisted for the London Construction Awards in the Supplier of the Year and Sustainability categories.
The company operates a successful apprenticeship scheme, encouraging new talent to join the business and offering excellent progression opportunities. Several apprentices have gone on to study degree-level courses and undertake senior roles in the business.
